Acoustic achievement

An innovative recital hall that reflects the undulating form of the mountainous terrain nearby is helping Utah State University establish itself as a center for world-class performing arts. The architects sought to create a sense of drama by drawing on the structure's natural surroundings, especially the mountains of the Wasatch Range. The structure's signature element, its lobby, features a two-story-high glass wall crowned by a sculpted zigzagged zinc roof, a form that reinterprets the silhouette of the mountain range.
