Zusammenfassung:The determination of some heavy elements in marine sediments using the InSTEC's EDXRF assembly was evaluated. The spectrometer's main analytical characteristics were performed using Cd and (238)Pu excitation sources. The system capabilities are tested by the analysis of the Certified Reference Material (CRM) IAEA-356. The results show that the K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Br, Rb, Zr and Pb elemental concentrations can be determined in marine sediments with an excellent accuracy and Co, Ni, Sr and Mo concentrations with an acceptable accuracy.
