Current situation and development about surface modification of titanium implants

In recent years, because of the good biocompatibility, pure titanium is frequently applied to the domain of implantation. But it still has many problems. With the clinical application of titanium implants at a wide range, people pay more and more attention on how to improve its achievement ratio. The scholars studied many methods to improve it. And surface modification of titanium implants plays an important role in improving achievement ratio of implantation. Currently the most commonly used surface treatment includes chemical treatment, physical treatment, biological treatment, and so on. And different disposal of the surface has its advantages. This review summarized the investigative situation and progression about surface modification of titanium implants in China and abroad.
