Zusammenfassung:Compressive room temperature yield behaviors of micro-specimens representing three lamellar orientations of a gamma titanium aluminide alloy were evaluated. The mechanical responses from specimens of each orientation and various diameters are compared to one another and to compression-loaded, conventionally sized titanium aluminide specimens. The yield stress results from the micro-specimens are shown to be relatively independent of specimen diameter and similar to those of conventionally sized compression specimens with similar microstructures.
