Zusammenfassung: | Specialised literature on global warming is not easy to understand. The media usually try to present this complex subject to the public in an attention-getting way, short on numbers and quantities and far removed from the content of the original source material. Since this kind of treatment is hardly going to satisfy physics professionals working in other fields, we owe it to ourselves, as well as to those who may ask our opinion on these matters, to inform ourselves appropriately. I shall therefore try to look at this topic from a particle physicist's point of view with special reference to the many points of contact with our own discipline. |
