Zusammenfassung:The ternary Pr–Au–Sn isothermal section at 600  ∘C has been investigated by X-ray diffraction, optical and scanning electron microscopy and electron probe microanalysis. The ten new ternary phases τ 1 PrAu 2− x Sn x , τ 2 Pr 61Au 25Sn 14, τ 3 PrAu 6− x Sn x , τ 4 Pr 4Au 11Sn 5, τ 5 PrAu 2Sn, τ 6 Pr 30Au 40+ x Sn 30− x , τ 8 Pr 5AuSn 3, τ 9 Pr 3Au 6Sn 5, τ 10 Pr 2Au 3Sn 4, τ 11 Pr 2Au 3Sn 6 have been identified and the ternary equiatomic τ 7 PrAuSn compound confirmed. The structures of some of these phases have been investigated by powder diffraction methods, and the results have been reported. The τ 3 PrAu 6− x Sn x solid solution at x = 1.77 and the τ 9 Pr 3Au 6Sn 5 ternary compound have been examined by single crystal method, resulting to be cubic cI208-38.2, space group Im 3 ̄ , and orthorhombic oP28, space group Pmmn, respectively. The tie-triangles of the ternary section have been determined and their trend has been discussed. The results obtained have been compared to the Ce–Au–Sn ternary section at 750  ∘C.
