New Disk Lasers and Scanner Optics for Highly-Productive Remote Welding Applications

High-power solid-state laser (YAG lasers) underwent a quantum leap during the last few years regarding higher available laser powers, better beam quality, improved electrical efficiency and reductions in price. This lead to revolutionary welding applications and the emergence of a new, highly productive welding technique called 'Remote Welding'. This article focuses on both, the required laser and scanner technology as well as benefits and advantages of such applications.
