Zusammenfassung:The Al–Ir phase diagram was specified in the range between 65 and 90 at.% Al. We confirmed the congruent melting of the Al 2.7Ir phase, which forms a eutectic with AlIr. At higher Al concentrations four intermediate phases were found to be formed by a cascade of peritectic reactions: Al 3Ir at 1466 °C, Al 28Ir 9 at 1446 °C, Al 45Ir 13 at 993 °C and Al 9Ir 2 at 877 °C. Their structures reported in the literature were confirmed.
