Hydroelectric installations, electrical transmission towers, electrical switching devices, canal locks and gates, and bridge decks and highways-as well as many other structures-are adversely affected by ice adhesion. Furthermore, transportation vehicles such as aircraft and naval vessels are also known to be at great risk. |
