Zusammenfassung:The adhesion of ice to common structures can have serious consequences. The substrates at greatest risk are those belonging to our outdoor infrastructure. Hydroelectric installations, electrical transmission towers, electrical switching devices, canal locks and gates, and bridge decks and highways-as well as many other structures-are adversely affected by ice adhesion. Furthermore, transportation vehicles such as aircraft and naval vessels are also known to be at great risk.
