Zusammenfassung: | In time‐resolved transmission spectroscopy of the 1Sparaexciton in cuprous oxide a temporal broadening and oscillations of the transmitted pulse for several tens of nanoseconds are observed. These observations are interpreted as polariton propagation beats and indicate a long paraexciton dephasing time in the nanosecond range. We discuss the dependence of the beat period on the external magnetic field and propose a model to calculate polariton beats for an inhomogeneously broadened resonance.
