TO THE MOON, ALICE ?: SENSORIMOTOR RISKS OF LUNAR EXPLORATION MISSIONS

A panel of scientists and flight surgeons from NASA's Johnson Space Center and the National Space Biomedical Research Institute will discuss the sensorimotor risks of lunar exploration missions that motivate current research efforts. These include manual and supervisory control of the lander spacecraft, EVA suit biomechanics and energetics supporting balance and efficient locomotion on sloped, rugged terrain, management of space motion sickness, and scientific use of the ISS and lunar missions to define Mars exploration risks.
