Zusammenfassung:The Spanish Government Public Works Research Institute - CEDEX in Madrid, Spain (home to the IAHR Secretariat), was tasked by the Spanish Puertos del Estado and the Seville Port Authority to carry out a series of model tests using a reduced scale physical model to verify the (i) hydrodynamic and (ii) ship behaviour of a new ship lock design for the port of Seville in southern Spain. The lock is designed to allow a new direct connection between the port and the Atlantic Ocean by means of the Guadalquivir River.
