Zusammenfassung: | Three studies were proposed for the 2007 QNDE ultrasonic benchmark session. The first study was a re-examination of the shear wave responses of side-drilled holes, a problem considered previously in the 2004 benchmark. The second and third studies considered the effects of the curvature of a fluid-solid interface on the pulse-echo immersion response of a flat-bottom hole. The first curvature study examined model-based predictions for a range of sizes of flat-bottom holes and curvatures while the second study compared models to experiments for a hole of a fixed size located at different depths and measured through five different curved or planar interfaces. Here we will summarize the results obtained at the Center for NDE (CNDE), Iowa State University, in all three of these benchmark problems. |
