Zusammenfassung:The DORT method (French acronym for decomposition of the time reversal operator) is used to characterize small flaws of cylindrical geometry. Experiments performed with linear arrays of transducers in contact with an aluminum block with air-filled holes of different diameters demonstrates the possibility to estimate the size of a flaw by analyzing the singular value distribution and the singular vectors. These results are confirmed theoretically.
