Zusammenfassung: | The alleviated and excessive use of pesticides to safeguard crops from pests has jolted sustainable agriculture practices. With their increased pest control system and reduced cost and adverse environmental effectscompared to standard agricultural pesticide application, sustained-release insecticides hold tremendous promise for sustainable agricultural operations. This review paper aims to highlight an all-inclusive study of Sustained-release pesticide formulations, principlesand mode of action, and their practical implication in regular farming practices. Several Sustained-release pesticide formulations, including encapsulation, matrix, emulsion, diffusion systems, etc., are discussed and compared to traditional agricultural practices concerning sustained-release formulations. Additionally, several variables that affect the formulation composition, ambient circumstances, and soil condition features of the sustained-release pesticides are emphasized. Additionally, the benefits and drawbacks of formulations for pesticides with prolonged release, as well as their potential for managed pest control, are discussed, and how one facet of contemporary farming operations may be affected in the future by herbicides with prolonged releases is also considered. In addition to highlighting their potential as useful instruments for achieving ecologically friendly pest management tactics, this study summarizes the significant advancements made in sustained-release pesticide research.
