Zusammenfassung: | Vaccines are highly effective in fighting COVID-19, reducing illness, hospitalization, and death. As new strains of the virus emerge, it is important to update vaccines accordingly. A study evaluated the effectiveness of a specific adapted vaccine in preventing COVID-19 infections within a healthcare system. The vaccine was found to be 62% effective in preventing hospitalization and 58% effective in preventing emergency department and urgent care visits. Older vaccines were found to offer little long-term protection against COVID-19. |
