Zusammenfassung: | [...]patients have to face long waiting times, sometimes over a year, and most of them only receive medical treatment when their disease becomes advanced, reducing the possibility of survival. To assist the Ethiopian Health Ministry in assessing the renewal of their national cancer control plan and in expanding radiotherapy services, experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA; Vienna, Austria), WHO (Geneva, Switzerland), and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC; Lyon, France) carried out an imPACT review in Ethiopia in November, 2023. Incrocci added, “Earlier detection of cancer, by creating awareness among the population and health care providers, will reduce the number of patients presenting with advanced disease therefore increasing cure rates.” |
