Zusammenfassung: | ROBERT COOKE was born in Howdon-on-Tyne, in 1812. His parents were devoted Christians and loyal Methodists. In 1805 his father built a house adjoining the Howdon-on-Tyne Wesleyan-Methodist chapel; and his hospitable home was ever open to the preachers. He was for many years Trustee and Steward. It is said that in his general demeanour 'he was noiseless and unobtrusive; evenly good; ever on the move without appearing to be in motion. The law of kindness was on his lips.' For fifty-one years he was a consistent member of our Society, and he passed away in peace and bright hope. |
