Zusammenfassung:	Diagnostic accuracy of laboratory-developed PCR after overnight enrichment for the detection of vanB vancomycin-resistant enterococci was evaluated on 537 rectal swabs. Defining Ct-values of 27-34 (40 samples, 7 % inconclusive), we found an excellent sensitivity of 98,3 % and specificity of 99,7 % for the remaining 497 samples.
