Zusammenfassung: | A wide band, low profile linear microstrip antenna array with cosecant square‐shaped beam pattern is presented. Array synthesis has been done using Orchard Elliott's and genetic algorithm methods. An air‐dielectric U‐slot rectangular patch element has been chosen as an array element for wide bandwidth. Simulated results have shown a good agreement with the measured results of the antenna array realized over 15% bandwidth in L‐band. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
