Zusammenfassung:Present work reports laboratory based efforts to design and implement an internet based telemetry system to monitor and control a remote motor. By principle the telemetry is an art of measuring or recording data from one or more instruments and transmitting them over a distance through internet medium. This system consists of local and remote portions. In the local portion, data are collected from external measuring devices and interfaced to be stored into a local computer, which is connected to the Internet and functions as a server. The remote portion consists of any remote computer that can access to the Internet website to access to the data from the local computer, acting as server, through the Internet. Hardware comprising a PIC Microcontroller was applied in interfacing circuits to develop and enable communication between the external measuring devices and the local computer. Software programs were developed for getting data and presenting Web Pages to the user at both the local and remote computers. With this Internet Based Telemetry system, measured data can be accessed globally. Although, this project was aimed at measuring operational parameters of a remote motor but the technique is equally good for telemedicine, e-learning, industrial, factory- residential control, military and civilian applications.
