Zusammenfassung:This study examines the background where the architectural design planning concept was established in the housing study, based on the concept of the housing sector that came to be discussed in early Meiji era with the Western sanitation concept incorporated into the traditional thought of Japanese regimen, under the philosophy that "women should produce a residential floor plan" in response to the demand of the society that a household should be managed by women, and the role of the modern housing study in the field of architectural design planning.
