Toward a better understanding of effect of implantation on glucose sensor response

A major obstacle to the widespread application of implantable glucose sensors is that they progressively lose function after a relatively short period of time in vivo. The aim of the study was thus to identify, and possibly prevent, causes for failure of implantable glucose sensors.
