Zusammenfassung: | A comprehensive approach to water quality management in the Tulatin river basin, Ore., is proposed to combat problems of regular summer blooms of algae, oxygen depletion and high nutrient concentrations in the river. The Northwest Environmental Defense Centre proposed total maximal daily loads governing the quality of effluent discharges are reported. A two-part plan to improve water quality is discussed. Key areas are highlighted. Involvement of the public in the decision making process is considered. |
