Zusammenfassung: | We investigate the three terminal carrier transport characteristics of Y junction carbon nanotubes. Work by Papadapoulos et al. has produced nanotemplate CVD carbon nanotubes in a Y configuration. Previous two-terminal Y junction measurements were done with this material which showed asymmetric partially rectifying I(V) characteristics between the stem and the branches.(Papadopoulos C. et al., ``Electronic transport in Y-junction carbon nanotubes'', Phys. Rev. Lett.) 85, 3476 (2000). Independent three terminal measurement presents a challenge because of the deep sub-micron distance between the branches. In our experiments, we have taken Y nanotubes and dispersed them on an Si_3N_4/Si substrate with alignment landmarks. Three independent contact pads were defined using e-beam lithography using a Ti/Au and annealed at 400circC. The results of three terminal measurements, low temperature contact resistance for different contact materials and annealing temperatures, as well as magnetotransport results will be discussed. |
