Zusammenfassung:Two types of Ni-based alloy substrate for coated conductor, Ni 92V 8 and Ni 93W 7, were prepared and characterized. Mechanical strength of both of the tapes is several times higher than that of pure Ni. Ni 92V 8 tape shows a fairly good cube texture but slightly oxidized during recrystallization treatment performed in Ar–3 vol.% H 2 gas mixture. While cube texture of Ni 93W 7 tape are somewhat imperfect, its ferromagnetism is estimated to be remarkably reduced. Biaxial texture of CeO 2 buffer layer deposited on the Ni 93W 7 tape is not so good but its surface seems to be crack free. Therefore, Ni 93W 7 is concluded to be a hopeful substrate material for coated conductor application.
