Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, we examine the applicability of the explicit finite difference method for one-dimensional consolidation analysis, taking into account secondary compression and time-dependent loading. It is shown that the consolidation time curve of clays is affected by the size of the time increment and that the problem of similitude for the consolidation of clays exhibiting secondary compression depends not only on the constitutive equation of clay but also on the numerical solution. |
