Zusammenfassung: | A method is described for the determination of pyridine and quinoline bases and aromatic amines in carbonisation effluents. The organic bases were extracted into diethyl ether, separated by gas-liquid chromatography and detected by a flame ionisation detector. Good separation was achieved using dual stainless-steel columns packed with Chromosorb W (AW-DCMS) coated with 15 per cent Carbowax 20M and by linear temperature-programming from 123° to 185°C at 3°C min
−1. From one sample, 39 peaks were resolved, of which 33 were found to correspond to 42 organic bases analysed under identical conditions; the remaining 6 peaks have not been positively identified. Concentrations down to 0·1 mg 1
−1 of each organic base in the original sample were determined. |
