Zusammenfassung: | This paper describes experimental and calculative investigation results aimed to clarify the relationship between thickness of oil film on a cylinder wall and oil consumption rate of internal combustion engines. The oil film thickness and oil consumption rate have been measured at the same time by using 2-dimensional fluorescence method and hydrogen fuel method. By adopting the measured oil film thickness, the evaporative oil rate at the cylinder wall has been calculated and compared with measured oil consumption rate. The results show that the oil film formed by piston ring sliding motion does not achieve immediate cause of oil consumption. |
