A low-temperature high-strain-rate formable nanocrystalline superplastic ceramic

A fully dense nanocrystalline ceramic consisting of ZrO 2, Al 2O 3 and MgAl 2O 4 was deformed at 1150 °C at a strain rate on the order of 10 −2 s −1. Spark plasma sintering was used in this study as a means of consolidation as well as for subsequent superplastic deformation.
