Zusammenfassung:	Literature on electronics and metal finishing wastes, mostly for 1998 , is reviewed. U.S. developments in the regulation of these wastes are described. Treatment of heavy metal wastewaters by precipitation, sorption, ion exchange and miscellaneous methods is discussed. Pollution problems caused by cyanide treatment, metal cleaning and metal working fluids and their prevention, are explored. Waste minimization by waste reduction, recycling and metal recovery is evaluated. There are 86 references.
