Zusammenfassung: | From the very beginning, European institutions plaid an important part in the development of nuclear industry. The EURATOM Treaty gave a framework which help each of the member states to build and operate nuclear power plants in a safe and cost-effective manner. One of the item featuring in the Treaty was the organisation of a European Research Area dedicated to Nuclear energy and, particularly, to Nuclear Safety. It is worth to highlight the very positive impact of this European research programs for a major nuclear power plant operator like EDF. |
