Zusammenfassung:This study is related to the mechanical behavior of cement-treated sands by the cement stabilization method. In this paper, the evaluation method of cyclic strength and the cyclic shear properties of cement-treated sands are investigated in detail by performing hollow cylindrical torsional shear tests. The following conclusions were obtained, (1) The addition of a small amount of cement improves significantly the cyclic shear properties of untreated sands. (2) Relations between the normalized cyclic stress 'τ_/qu' and the number of loading cycles 'N' almost indicate the tendency that 'τ_/qu' seems to converge in uniformity value where the degree of cementation exceeds a certain level. (3) The cyclic strength of cement-treated sands can be approximately evaluated from the unconfined compression strength 'qu', the effective mean principal stress 'σ'm', and the initial shear modulus 'G_.'
