Zusammenfassung: | During the First Chinese Arctic Expedition during July September 1999, surface-water samples were collected from the Bering and Chukchi Seas, and concentrations of PCBs were measured and compared. In both seas, the congener patterns were dominated by penta- and hexaCBs. The main congeners detected in the Bering Sea were 101 and 112, while in the Chukchi Sea, congeners 112, 153, and 180 dominated. The sums of the mean concentrations of PCB congeners 28, 52, 155, 101, 112, 118, 153, 138, 180, and 198 were 456.9 and 378.8 pg/l in the Bering and Chukchi Seas, respectively. |
