Zusammenfassung:The influence of the outer angle, friction conditions and deformation dead zone (DDZ) on inhomogenous behavior during equal channel angular pressing was investigated by a grid experiment and finite element analysis. For a given strain-hardening metal, shear deformation is not obviously found near the inner and outer surface of the die inlet. The larger the outer angle, the smaller the DDZ area. It is concluded that the origin of inhomogenous behavior is the die geometry, namely, the inner angle and the outer angle.
