Zusammenfassung:The effect of Y2O3 additives on the combustion synthesis and growth of AlN whiskers is reported. Phase analysis of the combustion products was performed by XRD and the morphology was studied by SEM. Combustion products with Y2O3 additive show a whisker morphology while products without Y2O3 are mainly composed of columnar crystals. The addition of Y2O3 changed the AlN whisker growth mechanism by forming Y-Al-O-N liquid phase. 12 refs.
