Zusammenfassung:The Ti-5553 and Ti-LCB alloys both form an athermal ω phase on quenching, but to very different extents. The selected-area diffraction (SAD) patterns shown on Figure 6b present clearly identified to reflections for the Ti-LCB sample, where only faint streaks are visible for the Ti-5553 alloy (Figure 6a). This suggests that the formation of the ω phase is more extended for the Ti-LCB alloy.
