Zusammenfassung:Metacomputing system is a kind of heterogeneous and dynamic distributed computing system in WAN (Wide Area Network). Communication model of metasystems must tackle the heterogeneous and dynamic problems, and has the ability to pass messages in WAN. After analyzing characteristics and deficiencies in common methods, this paper proposes a new communication model for metasystems. This model is based on Java, whose platform independence and data serialization hide the heterogeneity of various nodes in WAN; its multi-protocol mechanism-association of TCP protocol and UDP protocol-enhances its stability and efficiency. The model has two communication modes: direct mode and proxy mode, used in different conditions. Together, they can span different administrative domains and implement a communication environment transparent to users in WAN. Moreover, some other mechanisms, such as communication management and receiving buffer improve its transfer efficiency.
