Zusammenfassung:A boron trifluoride-pyridyl Lewis adduct is reported, which exhibits various types of chromism and high solid-state photoluminescence quantum yields, as well as excitation-dependent emission in the mechanically ground form. The facile synthetic approach offers a simple and potentially versatile strategy for inducing chromism in pyridyl ligands with donor moieties. We envisage this approach as having a dual benefit: simplicity and extensive applicability. A boron trifluoride-pyridyl Lewis adduct is reported, which exhibits various types of chromism and high solid-state photoluminescence quantum yields, as well as excitation-dependent emission in the mechanically ground form.
