Zusammenfassung:The surgeons who performed the procedure were Donald Ross and Keith Ross, both consultants at the National Heart Hospital. Inspired by the work of the MRI pioneer Professor Sir Peter Mansfield at Nottingham University, Longmore raised the money for a scanner to be installed at London's Royal Brompton Hospital to which he moved in 1984. Longmore was appointed Professor of Magnetic Resonance at the Royal Brompton Hospital, and the research group he started is now the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Unit.
