Zusammenfassung: | The hybrid instrument modulation of intensity and small angle neutron scattering (MISANS), combining the MIEZE spectroscopy technique with conventional SANS, and X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) are similar techniques both in the information they measure and the way in which that information is obtained. However, the length and time scales that they observe are substantially different but overlapping, allowing information measured by one technique to be continuously extended by the other. As recently demonstrated the combination of XPCS and classical neutron spin echo (NSE) can be used to explore new science (Phys. Rev. Lett. 91(16) (2003) 165504–1/4). We compare and contrast these two techniques in terms of their time scale and applicability to soft matter, biology, and magnetic systems. |
