Zusammenfassung:In July 2004 JOM published the first installment in an ambitious TMS program: the World Nonferrous Smelters Survey. The program is intended to develop a database of all known nonferrous smelters. This paper, the third installment in the project, presents a survey for nickel smelters processing lateritic or other types of oxidic nickel ores. Data for nickel sulfide smelting is scheduled to be published by JOM in the second half of 2006.
