Horizontal deformation of the Earth crust in a particular area of the Ignalinos nuclear power plant

A study was done to determine the extent of tectonic activity at the Ignalinos nuclear power plant in order to establish potential ecological risks. Ten points of tectonic breaks encompassing a geodynamic polygon at the power plant discovered by seismic and aeromagnetic surveys and analysis of structural morphology have been mapped and documented in 1998. Changes in the X and Y coordinates of these ten points are tabulated based on recent satellite imaging and GPS measurements. Deformation parameters are calculated and cartographic schemes are presented of the maximum and minimum relative lengthening within the geodynamic polygon at the Ignalinos nuclear power plant.
