Zusammenfassung: | Current practices in the U.S. health care industry drive climate change. This review summarizes the vast research on the negative health effects of the climate crisis on patients as relevant to obstetrics and gynecology. We further propose solutions to decarbonize operating rooms, labor and delivery units, and nurseries and neonatal intensive care units through evidence-based reduction in our single-use supply, energy, and water, as well as anesthetic gases and appropriate waste sorting. |
