Zusammenfassung: | Vibrations in a hot dip galvanizing process produces variations in zinc coating weight which are undesirable for automotive applications. A potential solution for decreasing the vibrations is the use of switching electromagnets. The nature of electromagnets as applied to thin steel strip is presented with a combination of experimental data and theoretical development. Parameters such as electromagnet placement, strip material, strip thickness, and estimated response are discussed. |
