The language of bacterial defences expands

Cells use specialized nucleotide signals to activate defences. A bacterial study reveals a previously unknown class of signals, formed by linking molecules of ATP and S-adenosyl methionine. Previously unknown second-messenger molecule for bacterial defence found.
