Zusammenfassung:One of the challenges in solid-state optoelectronics is the creation of blue light sources. Zinc selenide is a promising material for this application area. The band gap of ZnSe corresponds to the blue spectral region, and its physicochemical parameters allow various approaches to be used for producing efficient blue luminescence. At the same time, the question of the optimal doping impurity for ZnSe still remains open because the behavior of impurities is governed in many respects by native point defects. In this context, there is great interest in isovalent impurities, which influence the defect system and may, therefore, improve a number of important performance parame-ters of the material. One such impurity for zinc selenide is magnesium, which sharply increase the intensity of edge emission at room temperature. The objective of this work was to investigate the effect of Mg impurity on the structural and optical properties of ZnSe crystals.
