The somatosensory system fulfils a critical role in functional knee joint stability (FKJS) by providing afferent feedback necessary for neuromuscular control. Individuals with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLr) have altered somatosensory function. Somatosensory characteristics are assessed by proprioception and quantitative sensory testing.
