The effect of vertical head field component on the switching of thin metallic film

Zusammenfassung: | Magnetometric measurements indicate that when the magnetization of cobalt films is reversed by the application of fields at angles greater than grazing incidence, switching occurs when the field component H s in the film plane is less than the coercivity H c Curves of H s versus the vertical field component H y are shown for cobalt tapes and Co-P films. This effect has been shown to influence the writing process and could be used to facilitate the switching of the high coercivity films necessary for high packing density systems. |
