Zusammenfassung:The processes of tectonic dynamic systems along the three peripheries of the Junggar Basin and the diversity of the basement framework resulted in the fact that the uplift structures with different behaviors developed in the Junggar Basin during varied geohistorical periods. The orogeny outside the northeastern boundary during Late Carboniferous produced the Northern Rise of the basin, which differentiated further into the Luliang Uplift and the Wulungu Depression in Late Permian. While the orogeny outside the northwestern boundary during Early Permian brought about the creation of the Chepaizi Uplift, and the followed thrusting gave rise to the Kelamay-Xiazijie thrust belts. The transpression during the Yanshanian orogeny resulted in the Chepaizi-Mosuowan Uplift in the sedimentary cover with a SW-NE strike. The northward expansion of thrusting in the areas of Northern Tianshan Mountains during Cenozoic caused a rapidly flexural subsidence in southern part of the Junggar Basin, accompanied with the southward
